Species Statistics
The Species Statistics module provides detailed information about each species recorded in Xolmis Mobile. It aggregates data from all inventories and allows you to explore detection patterns, frequency, and distribution.
This module helps you understand which species are most common, when they were detected, and how often they appear across your surveys.
Accessing Species Statistics
- Open the main menu.
- Tap Statistics.
- Switch to the Per Species tab.
- Search and select a species in the search field.
General Species Statistics
The charts at the top shows:
- Total records per type – distribution of records per type and total of records.
- Records per month – bars chart showing the distribution of records per month of the year.
- Records per year – bars chart showing the distribution of records per year.
You can tap any species to view more detailed information.
Inventories
This section shows statistics specific to inventories.
- Relative abundance
- Relative frequency
- Total abundance
- Recorded POIs
- Records per hour – bars chart showing the distribution of records per hour of the day.
Nests
This section shows statistics specific to nests.
- Apparent success rate
- Nidoparasitism rate
- Nest fate – distribution of nest outcomes.
When to Use Species Statistics
Species Statistics is useful when:
- Analyzing species frequency and detectability
- Identifying rare or infrequently detected species
- Studying seasonal or temporal patterns
- Planning targeted surveys for specific species
This module provides a species‑centric view of your field data, helping you understand patterns and trends across your entire dataset.
