Nest Revisions

Nest revisions represent monitoring visits to a nest. Each revision documents the nest’s status at a specific date and time, allowing you to track its progress throughout the breeding cycle.

Revisions are essential for understanding nest success, failure, and timing of breeding events.

Creating a Revision

  1. Open the Nests module.
  2. Tap a nest to open its details.
  3. Go to the Revisions tab.
  4. Tap the + button.
  5. Fill in:
  6. Nest status (active or inactive)
  7. Nest stage (unknown, building, laying, incubation, hatching, nestling, inactive)
  8. Number of eggs or nestlings for the nest owner and nidoparasites
  9. Presence of Philornis larvae
  10. Notes (behavior, disturbances, predators, etc.)
  11. Save the revision.

Each revision is stored chronologically.

Editing a Revision

To update a revision:

  1. Tap the revision in the list.
  2. Modify the fields.
  3. Save your changes.

Revisions can be edited at any time.

Adding Images to a Revision

You can attach photos to document nest condition, contents, or habitat.

  1. Open the revision.
  2. Tap +.
  3. Choose Camera or Gallery.
  4. Optionally add a description.
  5. Save.

Tap an image to view it in full screen.

In the revisions list, you'll see the first image's thumbnail. If there are no images, the icon will appear, and if an error occurs, the icon will be shown.

Requirements for Inactivating a Nest

A nest must have at least one revision before it can be marked inactive.
This ensures that every nest has a minimum monitoring record.

  • Identify predation or abandonment events
